The first thing to keep in mind to choose the perfect wedding cake, is to decide if you want to cut the cake or not.
The cut of the cake is the first action that the couple do together after being married. It symbolizes the union of the couple to achieve a common goal.
Undoubtedly, it is a very special moment of the wedding and full of meaning. But not all couples feel comfortable doing it and some of them prefer to serve directly the cake to the guests.
If you decide to cut the cake, the cake will be presented, usually in the banquet room, and the bride and groom will get up to cut the cake with a spatula or knife. For this moment it will be important to choose a song, usually an emotional and romantic, to accompany the action. Sometimes the couple give themselves to taste the cake to each other.
Once the wedding cake is cut, it will be removed to finish cutting and/or serving the cake to the guests.

2. Choosing the type of wedding cake

Types of wedding cake:
- Real cake: It is the classic format, in which a big cake is made, usually with different floors, which is presented so that the bride and groom can cut the cake. This can be covered with fondant, decorated with flowers, metallic effect, naked cake, customized in some theme, etc. This cake can be the one that will later be served to guests, or it can be only to (then you could place it in the Candy bar). In this case, it will be served to the guests an individual cake, which can be the same flavor as the wedding cake. This last option is the most common, since the individual cake option is the one that usually looks best in the plates and also because making a big cake for many guests can be complicated.

- Fake cake for cutting: If you don’t want to spend money on making a real cake to cut it, you can choose the fake cake option. A very common choice. In the wedding venues, they usually use a wooden platform shaped like a cake and in this, they place the individual cakes that are later served to the guests. To make the cut, the couple will cut an individual portion. The effect will be practically the same as the one in a real cake.

- Cake presented in pedestals: If you prefer something simple, another option is to present the pies in pedestals. You can place the individual cakes in them, or the portions of the cake (for example, if it was a cheesecake or similar).
- Without presentation: If you prefer to do not make the cut of the cake, the individual cake or the cake portion you have chosen will be served directly to the guests. We recommend you to choose a fun song to serve the cake in the room, as the time of the party will be close.
Whether you are cutting the cake or not, what is usually done is to serve the guests individual cakes or mini cakes, regardless of the cake for cutting.

3. Choose the taste of the cake

If you are between 2 cakes, you can also opt for the option to make 50% of one flavor and 50% of the other, and randomly be given to the guests. I can be very fun!
Another recommendation is to try the cake in the menu tasting before the wedding. Like this you can see if you like the flavor and if it combines well with the rest of the wedding menu.

4. Choosing the wedding cake figure
Once you have chosen the wedding cake, it will be time to choose the wedding cake figure or topper.
You can find countless options, from the most classic to the most innovative. You will also find places where you can customize the figure. They design the figure to look like you or be inspired in some activity or hobby that you like (your job, superheroes, some film, etc.).
A trend that has come strong, are the wedding cake toppers. Instead of a figure it is a topper with the names of the bride and groom, the initials of the couple or a phrase. You will find them in different materials: wood, methacrylate, metallized and you can also customize them.
